It was the first day of home schooling after going into Coronavirus19 lockdown again. My daughter was being cagey, saying her laptop was out of charge but I told her to bring it down stairs anyway and we would charge it as she used it.
The truth then came out that she had dropped it and cracked the case across the power button. This means that if the screen is open too much it shuts off the power. You can see the case flex as you open and close it.
To add to this the screen goes black after login yet you can see the mouse cursor and open the options page with ctrl-alt-delete. Online advice hasn’t helped me resolve the problem either.
On the plus side I had my work laptop at home with me so we were able to do online lessons. It is lucky we are relatively technology rich and my heart goes out to those who are struggling with lockdown and home schooling at this time.
