I like poetry mostly. I like funny poems best. I was introduced to Spike Milligan’s work when I was about 10 years old and enjoyed it a lot. I find, these days, I don’t have enough time for reading of anything so I intend to change that.
I thought of a friend I haven’t seen in some time and my mind started to compose a poem for some reason. I’ll record it here, mostly for my own amusement. It’s called “My Friend”.
“I remember the first time I saw you, in that flat on the second floor. I was a friend of your cousin Kaz, who all the girls seemed to adore.
I said something that made you laugh, then you said something that tickled me. That was the start of a love for each other that has lasted so gloriously.
What with wives and kids and work and life we don’t get together often enough. But when we do meet again we are sure to laugh like a drain at the others nonsense and guff”.
