The kids and I spent an enjoyable hour at the REME Museum out Chippenham way. Basically the REME love putting winches and hoists on things. I could have spent longer and will go back without the kids. If you listen to and read all the displays etc, it’s a couple of hours. Also a caféContinue reading “Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Museum.”

Slightly overwhelmed.
I’ve taken on too many projects! I’ve got What a Tanker! WW3 Team Yankee, O Group, Kings of War, Stargrave and Star Wars Imperial Assault on the go. Not to mention gardening and garage projects. Plus it’s half term and I’ve promised the kids a few days out and about. I think I need toContinue reading “Slightly overwhelmed.”
An hour’s fun.
It was like I was a kid again, only better. I bought 3 Zvezda tanks in 15mm scale. A British Matilda, an American Sherman and a German Ferdinand. I’d not bought from Zvezda before but had heard they have a great reputation, so I was confident of a good product. However what I got wasContinue reading “An hour’s fun.”
Busy day.
I have cut the grass, washed 4 machines of laundry, prepared lunch for 3 days and made 20 foot of hedgerow for war-gaming from green scouring pads and hot glue. Now to prepare dinner.
Glorious day 2.
It’s amazing how much my spirits have been lifted by the arrival of Spring. I was doing a bit of shopping at the local shopping precinct. Normally a mundane activity but was almost a joy in the sun. I painted 5 garden chairs with black Hammerite paint. I like these chairs. Once you get theContinue reading “Glorious day 2.”
Today was a good day.
I started Noom two weeks ago as I’ve put on weight in lockdown. I’ve lost 7 pounds or half a stone in old money. If I can keep this up I’ll be back to prime condition soon. I also did the usually housekeeping chores and managed to get a small game of Warhammer 40,000 inContinue reading “Today was a good day.”
Mother’s Day
It’s Mother’s Day or Mothering Sunday if you prefer. This is the Hallmark approved special day in the UK when children are legally required to buy shonky nonsense for their dear old mum. As usual our kids did the bare minimum and I had to chivvy them in the week to make a card forContinue reading “Mother’s Day”
If I was a wizard …
And I decided to retire, would I be a wazard? I do like a bit of nonsense. It’s been a funny day today. Mostly sunny with occasional showers. Now there is hail about the size of a garden pea. I’ve spent most of the day outside tidying the garden. I should imagine tomorrow will beContinue reading “If I was a wizard …”
Unintended Saturday.
I had plans for today. I was going to carry out some extensive tests with my new pistols. However it was not to be. My son’s Warhammer 40K game arrived and I promised to help him put it together and play a game. It took us about 2.5 hours to assemble all of the SpaceContinue reading “Unintended Saturday.”
I like driving in my car …
My daughter asked if we could go for a drive around the neighborhood tonight. Other than a few trips to the shop I hadn’t driven any significant distance since about a year ago. We drove for about an hour and a half, just around the local area. I had a burn up the ring roadContinue reading “I like driving in my car …”
