I wanted to be either a doctor of medicine, an astronaut or a monster hunter. Only one of these career paths was realistically achievable as I was, academically, a shiftless dreamer.
What was your childhood dream and did you achieve it?

In and out and up and down and twice around and through. This is how far I’d go to show my love for you.
I had a sub 12 ft-lbs BSA Lightning GRT air rifle for Christmas. Here are 3 vlogs as I zero the telescopic sight.
I was taking off my socks when I had an intense pain in my right hand middle finger. I had managed to do a sports injury called “Baseball Finger” or “Mallet Finger” by removing a sock.
I was unable to straighten my finger at the tip joint. Since we’re in lockdown I had to rely on the internet for advice and I’ve ended up taping half an ice lolly stick as a splint.

I have to keep it splinted for 3 weeks. It makes hand washing awkward but I’m lucky to have a lovely wife to help me.
I like poetry mostly. I like funny poems best. I was introduced to Spike Milligan’s work when I was about 10 years old and enjoyed it a lot. I find, these days, I don’t have enough time for reading of anything so I intend to change that.
I thought of a friend I haven’t seen in some time and my mind started to compose a poem for some reason. I’ll record it here, mostly for my own amusement. It’s called “My Friend”.
“I remember the first time I saw you, in that flat on the second floor. I was a friend of your cousin Kaz, who all the girls seemed to adore.
I said something that made you laugh, then you said something that tickled me. That was the start of a love for each other that has lasted so gloriously.
What with wives and kids and work and life we don’t get together often enough. But when we do meet again we are sure to laugh like a drain at the others nonsense and guff”.

How To Create Internal Links?
It was the first day of home schooling after going into Coronavirus19 lockdown again. My daughter was being cagey, saying her laptop was out of charge but I told her to bring it down stairs anyway and we would charge it as she used it.
The truth then came out that she had dropped it and cracked the case across the power button. This means that if the screen is open too much it shuts off the power. You can see the case flex as you open and close it.
To add to this the screen goes black after login yet you can see the mouse cursor and open the options page with ctrl-alt-delete. Online advice hasn’t helped me resolve the problem either.
On the plus side I had my work laptop at home with me so we were able to do online lessons. It is lucky we are relatively technology rich and my heart goes out to those who are struggling with lockdown and home schooling at this time.
Many years ago I was told by a trusted friend that I should put salt in the filter with the coffee grounds before making the coffee. Just a few crystals, not even a full pinch. Before making the coffee, not after.
The idea is that the salt slows the development of the bitter notes that develop and help stabalise the taste. When I remember to do it I find it works well and my coffee retains it’s taste even if I end up drinking it cold.
So do you put salt in your coffee? Comments below.
The last of my Christmas Day yeti musings.
The Christmas decorations are boxed up and back upstairs in the junk room, as my wife refers to the room we store all the necessary bits and bobs to run a family household.

Just a few sweets, mince pies and a drop of Rum to finish off before Christmas is really over. I expect everyone will bring their excess sweets into work too!
